I’m a big 2Pac fan because he was a messenger, storyteller, and artist all wrapped up into one. My generation (the 80’s babies) was practically raised on 2Pac and coming from the hood, his voice reflected what was going on in a way that nobody could touch.

I’m not a fan of all of his records (yes, some songs and some beats were wack – and most people are afraid to admit it), but overall Pac was lyrical beast. So without further delay, here are the top 5 Tupac records of all time (no particular order). Don’t argue.

My Ambitionz Az A Ridah. I can ride to this song all day. The beat bangs and Pac is coming heavy with the gangsta lyrics.

Smile. Can’t go wrong with a Scarface feature. I think because they had real chemistry and could relate to each other on a level higher than music, is why this record was so flawless.

Picture Me Rollin.’ This song has that thug life Cali vibe to it. Definitely a Pac classic… On top of that, the features by Danny Boy, CPO, and Big Syke came with it.

So Many Tears. This song gives me goosebumps… Pac deals with his demons on this record from the streets to the pen, and tries to make sense of it all. He predicts death and prepares for it. He talks about wanting to go to heaven, but the reality of it is he felt like he would go to hell. This is a very dark, deep record. #ThugLife

I’d Rather Be Ya N.I.G.G.A. This is one of them Pac records you can just ride out to when you with ya girl or when you ’bout to pull up on her. The back and forth verses that Richie Rich and Pac spit are definitely on point.

What are your top 5 2Pac records DFW?
