We’ve all seen Ice Cube‘s cult classic movie “Friday” right? Well, remember when Chris Tucker a.k.a. “Smokey” thought he was smoking some weed with Hector, but it turned out to be laced with Angel Dust? The paranoia was real. For Smokey it may have been a one-time thing, but for others, the drug has been connected to their lifetime of crime, addiction, prison, and death. The story of the late O.G. Crip, Stanley “Tookie” Williams is a prime example that any affiliation with the drug Angel Dust (also called PCP, water, or dips) could lead to a lifetime of unnecessary challenges.
When PCP hit the streets in the 70’s, it easily found it’s way into America’s culture. In Nas‘ new song, “Angel Dust,” he attempts to conjure up those moments and shed some light on the subject that’s been silently swept under rug. Check out the record below.
