Last month when Jacqueline Craig called the Fort Worth Police Department about her white neighbor choking her 7-year old son. She never thought she and her two daughters would be the ones arrested. But that’s just what happen.
The confrontation between Office William Martin and Craig was captured on a cellphone video and the arrest went viral. On Thursday, an activist posted the video from Office Martin’s body camera, it shows what happened before and after viral video. Keep in mind FWPD decline to charge the neighbor who admitted to choking the child. Officer Martin, a 10-year veteran of the force, received a 10-day suspension after the original video went viral. Chief Joel Fitzgerald said “his violations included neglect of duty, discourtesy and inappropriate contact with two females”.
The police department previously said it would not release the body camera video and declined to comment Thursday on the leak. Craig and her two daughters are still facing charges. They also want Officer Martin charged and fired. A grand jury will review the case and determine if anyone will be indicted.
