Employee’s at the Wendy’s location on Interstate 20 near Trail Lake Drive in Fort Worth. According to the officer, the employees made eye contact with him when he walked in, and then walked to the back of the kitchen and refused to serve him. The Fort Worth Police Department reached out to Wendy’s to report that an officer in uniform had been refused service at a restaurant Thursday.
Wendy’s released a statement Friday saying that it appears to be an “unfortunate misunderstanding. This restaurant welcomes and offers free meals and discounts to all members of law enforcement,” the statement said.
The Fort Worth Police Department later sent out a tweet thanking Wendy’s for meeting with the department and supporting law enforcement.
