Last night The Roots performed with the Dallas Pops Orchestra in Irving at the Music Factory. That would already make for an interesting show, but The Roots always bring friends. Erykah Badu gave an inspired performance. Bilal blew the house down. Robert Glasper amazed on the keys. But it was the surprise emergence of the legendary Chaka Khan that sent the crowd in to a frenzy. She performed a few of her hits and left the stage to a standing ovation from the stunned audience.
